I. 1. YOU WERE BECOMING ALL ALONG: THE JOURNEY NO ONE SAW
No one sees the agony you carry when people casually compare you to others, without ever glancing at differences in their environment, their mentorship, or their moral support. No one claps when you choose discipline over distractions. No one hears the war inside your head when your score isn’t enough. No one hears the whisper that says “keep going” when your chest is heavy with doubt and your hands are still full of books.
"Maybe that’s why this journey is powerful, because it’s yours, built in silence and proof that you never gave up."
I used to think becoming a doctor would be a loud moment: a white coat, a title, a room full of applause, everything getting placed as you had wondered it to be, and everything being bubbly. But now I know, it’s quieter than that. It happens in silence, in solitude. In the mornings when the world is asleep and you're already on your third revision. In the days when you hold yourself together with nothing but sheer will. Before anyone calls you “doctor,” you become something else first; someone who learns how to keep going even when no one’s watching, no one’s cheering. Maybe that’s the real becoming.
“Not the moment they give you the coat, but the million unseen moments that made you worthy of it.”
AND THEN I REALISED YOU WERE BECOMING ALL ALONG...
SO IF YOU'RE IN THAT PHASE - JUST A NAME ON AN ADMIT CARD, BURIED UNDER BOOKS AND PRESSURE - KNOW THIS:
But the truth is, becoming doesn’t start there. And it doesn’t end there either. It begins in the moments no one sees. The alarm is buzzing before the sun rises. The doubts you carry silently. The tears that fall after another mock test gone wrong. And still, you show up. Still, you show up being positive, pretending everything is fine, pushing yourself to have courage, that it will be worth it someday. You begin to become in the days that test your patience, your belief in yourself, and your endurance. And even when you’re unsure, even when the path feels endless, something inside you keeps choosing to stay to try, to study, to dream. That’s not waiting. That’s becoming. The white coat is not the beginning of your story. It’s just the visible part of it. What it represents the resilience, the discipline, the quiet strength was already alive in you long before you wore it. So if you’re still on your way there, still fighting for your place in that coat, don’t underestimate the journey you're on. Every small win, every silent battle, every chapter you choose to open instead of giving up, that’s what defines you.
You are already becoming. Every single day.
"Becoming isn't when the world sees you, but it's when you keep going even when it doesn't."
So keep going, not just towards the coat, but towards the version of you that already wears it in spirit.
Becoming was just the start. Now begins the part where love feels like a chain and care begins to burn. She thought she was ready, but some lessons hurt more than they heal. Bound by Love, Burned by Care coming soon.
